1871 Look Up Please for Edwin King b. 1839 Stockport

Hello,

Looking for Edwin  (maybe Edward??)  King b. 1838/1839 in Stockport, Cheshire in 1871 with Wife Eliza and dau Lilly Eliza.

Edwin's Parents are Rueben and Elizabeth (Tempest) King.

1851 Edwin is 13 and w/ parents at Henshaw Lane, St. Thomas Stockport

In 1861, called Edward age 22 living with Rueben/Elizabeth in Stockport with
wife Eliza        (b. 1839, Stockport)    Collier could be her nee
dau Lilly Eliza ( b. 1861, Stockport).

No profession listed in 1861 but in 1851 Edwin was a printer's apprentice  (Father Rueben is a Newspaper Reporter).

Think his name most likely to be Edwin as this was a family name.

Is this a different Edwin from the other post you put up with wife Catherine?  I'm a bit confused.

I found your Reub(in) King and family on the 1861 and on it Edwin is a Newspaper Reporter (its had -do- under Reub(in)s profession).

I found Reub(en) and family on the 1871 living in Cheadle Bulkely, where he is now a Stationer.

I have searched for Edwin and Eliza Matilda (his wife) on the 1871 and 1881 and can't find them.

Hi Su!   Think you've got it right.....

This Edwin w/ wife Eliza    is the son of Rueben & Eliza (sometimes Elizabeth) Matilda that you have found.

The Edwin Howe King with 1st wife Catherine (nee Mottram Goddard) is this Edwin's uncle.  (Edwin Howe is Rueben King's youngest brother)

Tell me about confusing!!

Thanks for looking for THIS Edwin and Eliza in 1871/1881 ---  will start looking for them in the US and see if that turns them up??

Hi Kathy,
I found this today whilst looking through records  of Saint Mary's parish church, Stockport. I think it's one of yours.
Edwin King, minor, married Eliza Collier also a minor on 1st February 1858.
Edwin's profession is given as Letter Press Printer and dad Reuben is a reporter.
Their address is 1 Bramhall Hall Lane, Stockport.
Eliza's dad is James Collier and he's a waste dealer their address is Arden Pool, Hillgate, Stockport.
The witnesses are Reubin King , Esther King and William Maynes or Mayner, not sure which, he could be a verger.
