I am researching the LAVENDER family who moved originally from Huntingdonshire to London and from there on to Bristol between 1891 and 1901.
JAMES LAVENDER born 1866, Hunts (widowed) and his two children THOMAS LAVENDER born circa 1887 London, and GWENDOLINE LAVENDER born circa 1989, also in London.
Gwendoline married a COX. In 1916 she was living at 34 Saxon Road, Mina Road, Bristol. I only know this as she is shown on her Grandmothers Death Certificate as the informant.
I have no other knowledge of these people, but would welcome any suggestions in where to begin looking for info about them.
James Lavender was the brother of my Great Grandfather, Robert Lavender.

I assume you have the 1901 census (James, Clara & family)? If not, it is free on Ancestry until the end of the month - or if you are too late I can post it.

One of the children on the 1901 census is a Reginald - you can find out his mother's maiden name by ordering his birth cert and this looks likely to be the reference:

Reginald James LAVENDER
Barton Regis, (Bristol) Gloucestershire

1893 June quarter

Many thanks for reading and replying to my posting.
As I have no knowledge of what became of this LAVENDER family, I am ever hopeful that someone may stumble upon this message and realise that I am researching the same family that they are.
Meanwhile, though, I will look into the lead of Reginald Lavender. His name was not one I had come across.
