Hi,
I am trying to find the whereabouts of the following siblings who i believe will still be in Dudley area in 1841 even though there father has married for second time and moved away. As far as I'm aware they are all still single, all of them not marrying until in their 30's, but I want to check this. They could even be in the workhouse.
William Nettleton b1810 Dudley. (he married later in Birmingham so could already be in that area)
John Nettleton b 1816 Dudley Elizabeth Nettleton b 1818 dudley.
Thanks very much for any help.

Hi and thanks very much.
John Nettleton's dead mother was Steenton - would you be able to provide the other household details please?
Interesting that William was a shoemaker - he later gave his profession as engine/white smith - would that be a workhouse trade i suppose?
Can you confirm that no other Nettletons in the workhouse and no sign of Elizabeth? Elizabeth later married a William Geast Green.
Thanks.

STEENTON William - 45 - miner Richard - 55 - shoemaker
Have also found another William Nettleton, aged 30yrs in Droitwich Lunatic Asylum, but it doesn't give his occupation.
No signs of Elizabeth Nettleton.

Thanks for that. Could I ask one more question please?
Regarding Elizabeth, were you able to see her future husband William Geast Green on the 1841? If I have the correct husband I see that he was 40 when they married - so wodering if he was married before, or perhaps it was actually his son by the same name who married Elizabeth.
I have often been able to pick the correct Greens out due to the unusual middle name. I also have his profession as Painter.
Thanks again.
Keith.

The following is the only William in Dudley who is a painter. He is with a Hannah aged 25yrs
GREEN WM / M /30/ WORCESTERSHIRE / TOWER STREET / DUDLEY
So could this be the one, on his first marriage.

Thanks again. I just remembered that I do have the marriage cert for William and elizabeth and he is a widower.
Looking on the IGI there is only one marriage in dudley for a william and Hannah in the right period so that seems to fit.
I presume no sign of children on the 1841?
Keith.
