Children: Mary (b. 22 July 1837 - Methven d. 24 Feb 1867) and James (b. 6 May 1840 -Methven d. 9 Dec 1910 Carling, Ontario Canada)

James Crerar - Isabella Carmichael m.  4 Feb 1864

Isabella was the daughter of Dugald Carmichael and Flora McDuffie.  She was born in Glasgow but raised in Blackrock on the Isle of Islay.

Their Children: David, Margaret, Jane, James, William, Walter, Isabella (married Andrew Thompson.. who is my great-grandfather), Mary-Anne, Flora, Sarah, Bertha, and Catherine.

Any help would be wonderful or even a direction to look!

Hi there!

My ancestors were the Swords of Methven, however there were hundreds of them (or so it seems - Methven really isn't that big!!) and I have not managed to link them all together yet!!  All the christian names you have link with those of mine but I can't quite see the direct link.....  yet!!

The twins thing too makes me think our lines must be close as I have Peter and Jean b. 1775, their sister (my GGG granny) also had boy/ girl twins and I seem to remember finding quite a few other sets, but haven't looked at this line for a while.

I will try to get to the Perth library this week and see what I can find.... so if there's anything else you'd like me to check then get back to me ASAP - I've got access to all the local records, census' etc

My most distant Drummond ancestor is Josiah, born in 1731 in Perth. He had 4 brothers: John, b. abt 1723; Donald, b. abt 1725; William, b. abt 1727; Alexander, b. abt 1729. He married twice; I descend from John who married Isabella McDuff. I have been trying to find Josiah’s father. The only information I have been able to get that might be a possibility is a Josiah Drummond married to Emilia Crerar in 1762 in Fowlis Wester, Perth. Does Emilia appear in your database & do you have any Drummonds?

I've just recently started looking at Perthshire CRERARs particulaly in connection with STEWARTs and in or near Dull/Weem/Kenmore etc.  I know Methven is not far away and wonder of course if the Methven CRERARs connect with them.

Notice in names you are researching you have Gray..funnily enough James Crambs first wife was a Charlotte Gray Huh
Stewarts I also have but mainly from Kilmadock, Kincardine, Stirling and a couple from Edinburgh.
Hendersons from Port of Monteith.
Mitchell from Clamannanshire.

So you never know
