heh no problem Grin

I've just checked your site and see you've got the "emailme" page opening in a new browser window.

How about having a play and seeing if you can incorporate the same color scheme into the page?  I see you use CSS for your main site - it wouldn't take much effort to adapt it to use the same CSS sheets.

I also noticed you're not using the drop-down name selection box.  If you want to disable that let me know.  I posted an incorrect fix to disabling it earlier and because I wasn't askedto fix it I left it alone.

I've had ideas of writing a proper full guestbook with features like logging IPs, having bbcode so emoticons can be used and more but because of the complexity of the project I'd like some feedback on it first.  Its going to have to use the MySQL database so how many users will be able to set this up?

I've already got the code written - its now just a case of adapting it for RootsChat.

Hi Zeb,

Yes, I will "play" with it later and "integrate" it into my site - this was more of a trial run, as somebody had asked me a question about it.

As for the names list, how about making it an option ??

Similar to the optional image, with a define OPT_NAMES, then everybody can decide for themselves, without you needing to "fix" it if they don't want it  Smiley

Feedback on Guestbook:
My first feeling is that MySQL will be too much for most RootsChatters to handle - I think there are only about 5-10 of us who even know what PHP is !!
But that's only one opinion, so far !

cheers,
Bob

Optional names can be done but because of the IF's nested in the code it'd be far easier to release a version with some code removed.

Its the MySQL side of the guestbook script thats stopping me as users will have to set up a username & password and everthing.

I'm ill with sinus complaints at the moment and even though its given me loads of time off work I really don't feel like getting my head stuck into PHP  Grin

I've been getting SPAM in my e-mail form too, so I've added the same fix as in the guest-book:

Quote
it rejects any entries with an http, an https or a www in the text !!
So meaningless entries will still get in, but the websites for sex and pharmaceuticals won't !
and in my case, for sun-glasses !!

PM me for details.
