I know that at least one of my great aunts, born in scotland in 1901, emigrated and settled permanently in Ontario, Canada. Am not sure if she married before or after she went, and would welcome any advice on how to start looking. Thanks

Hi Karen,
My aunts name was Molly Donaldson, born 1901 in clydebank, when she married i am not sure, but she became Molly Carle. I also think her younger sister followed suit and emigrated too. She was called Louise and was born in 1913 and after marriage was Louise Doak. I know my Aunt Molly lived in Tillsonburg, not entirely sure about Louise. Does this help at all?

Many thanks for your replies and helpful suggestions. I wanted to follow up on my great Aunt Molly in particular, because i met her when she came over for a visit when i was young, and we corresponded for a while. It was she who really got me interested in researching my family history when she sent me some old photos and documents many years ago. Thanks again

If the Molly that you found as emigrating in 1926 is my gt.aunt, and it seems likely, she must have then married after arrival in canada. Any advice you can offer on the best way to go about finding out about that? Louise was not born until 1913, so i suppose she might have gone out much later.

Can't help you, there....I think Karen's information is the way to go first...
There is also this site, if you find that she was still alive in 1940...
