I am looking for my great-grandmother's sister Maud INGRAM. Her details are as follows:
Name: Maud St Francis INGRAM Born: 1886, West Ham, England Arrived in USA: Before 1920 (she - as much as I can be certain - is on the 1920 census in New York) Married: sometime in the 1920s or 30s, in California, to Mr SANTANGELO Parents: Edward Charles INGRAM and Caroline COOPER, both English. Other names: Maud was also fond of calling herself Millicent Maud. According to the US Social Security Death Index, a Millicent SANTANGELO died aged 90 in 1986, in Fresno, California.
Other info: Maud had two children, John and Patricia SANTANGELO. Maud was sent to Canada in 1912 as a British Home Child, aged 15.
I would be very grateful if someone could have a look for Maud in 1930. Thank you so much in advance for your time.
Kind regards
Prue

I had a good look in Ancestry's census records and could not find your gal under any of her names in 1920 or 1930, in any state :-(
I also could not find her children in the California Birth Indexes - how sure are you that California is where she was?
I suppose you have seen her record of immigration from England to Canada? In case you haven't

You should be able to send for her records before she came to Canada. Also, have you checked the St Albans border crossing lists? She should be in there, and it may give her intended destination.
In 1895 Canada and USA established a joint inspection system. Two sets of records werecreated - passenger lists and compiled inspection cards.
These CANADIAN BORDER CROSSING records were microfilmed by INS. They cover 1895-1954 and are indexed. They do not include Canadians before 1906. After September 30, 1906 both Canadians and non-Canadians are included on these lists.
