Helllo again Mack.
You've definitely found Oliver Johnson. Unfortunately my website wasn't updated with Oliver's details and I had already identified him. You've done a sterling job though, from just a name. I knew his regiment which helped.
I agree he isn't local - I cannot find a local birth or a local census entry. If anybody can tell me more, it would be great. I didn't know he enlisted in Sheffield though, so I can add that to his details.
Thanks again Mack,
Happy Hunting
Robert.

Hello Mack.
It could be, but there is another stong possible
M JACKSON Rank: Lance Corporal Regiment: York and Lancaster Regiment Unit 6th Bn. Age: 27 Date of Death: 13/12/1916 Service No: 11307 Additional information: Husband of Mrs. C. E. Jackson, of 124, Upper Allen St., Sheffield.
Unfortunately it could be either of them. Upper Allen Street is an area some of the others on my site come from, so This man could quite easily have worked at Vickers as well.
Its a tricky one.
I don't know what to do on this one.
Cheers
Robert.
