Family tree seems to indicate a connection with Cumberland, in particular a Sheriff.
Any information would be very useful.
Thank you

Can you expand this? Dates would help. It does not really make sense! Is Sheriff a name or the title? Where isn Cumberland?

Miles de Halton was Sheriff of Cumberland in the 14th century. I have little other information other than one descendant was the astronomer Imanuel/Immanuel Halton in the 17th century.
Thank you very much for your help
