Looking for Amy Hill in Limerick

My Great Aunt - AMY HILL was born c1871 in Limerick according to the 1901 census. Her parents were THOMAS HILL and MARY JANE HILL (formerly Yates). THOMAS was in the 47th Foot Regiment in 1874 when AMY's younger sister was born in Lancashire.
AMY married THOMAS DRINKWATER in Farnborough, Hampshire, England in 1897.
Please can someone advise me how or where to look for AMY's birth - as I have not had to search in Ireland for any records previously.

Unfortunately none of the Irish BMD indexes are on-line but they are available to order from your local family history centre, when you get your index number from there you sent it along with your €1.90 to General Register Office, Government Offices, Convent Road, Roscommon.
Otherwise you will have to contact both the Limerick city register office, St. Camillus's Hospital, Limerick City,   phone number (061) 326677
or the county one at:
Limerick county Register office
M.W.H.B., Health Centre, Newcastle West,    phone number (069) 62545
It is €6.98 for the certs I think but don't quote me on it.
this is the General Registrars office of Ireland website that might help you out a bit more.
