Matthew Howard who emigrated to Virginia in 1600's

Good Day.  I am new to the postings and of course trying to link my lineage from Matthew Howard who emigrated sometime in the 1600S to Virginia from England.  Some sources say he was born in 1609 in Wardour Wilshire England, son of John Howard and Elizabeth Lock(e).  Then some say he was from Thomas Arundel (Howard) and his wife Ann Thoroughgood or Ann Philipson.  Matthew Howard's son, Samuel Howard left a will in Maryland at the time of his death, citing Matthew Howard as his father.   The story goes cold after that.  Any information is greatly appreciated and I thank you in advance!
