Thanks Peter, another stumbling block. These rellies did not have a mind to make things easy!!! Thanks for looking I dont suppose there were any from Norfolk? or of a different age cos Margaret it seems had a mind to be how old she wanted to be and from where she fancied at the time? Regards Lorrie

Thank you Peter. Margarets parents were James & Maria Lamb born Yarmouth Norfolk. She married James Hastings in Birkenhead Parish Church in 1854 I have her marriage certificate but it only states Birkenhead Parish as her residence. In 1861 she was in Yorkshire with her husband and children. In 1871 they were in Birkenhead, I cant find them in 1881 and both were dead by 1891. Margaret is in Dorset with her family in 1841 (her father was a Coastguard). A fellow family resarcher in Canada has indicated in research notes that she had found a Margaret Sophia Lamb on 1851 census in Wirral, I have asked her for the details but she has not come back to me yet so I thought I would ask here. As I had thought she may have been in Ireland at that time. Regards Lorrie

Hi Lorrie
The only Margaret Lamb in the Wirral index is in 1851 a servant aged 21 from Uppleby Westmorland.
It is allways possible that the name is misspelt so if you get the details I would be interested in the census referance.
regards

Peter, It seems she may have got confused and listed a census reference against the wrong person! I am sorry to have led you with the wrong information. We've all done it I think with this hobby. Thanks for your effort in looking. I think I will rest from this branch for a while and investigate one of my other lines sometimes a break does one good. Regards Lorrie
