Dotty,
The only book of transcripts for Coates that they had went from 1850-1921, and the PERKINS family name does not appear there at all. Very sorry to draw a blank - maybe they went just up the road to Whittlesey to get baptised and married and buried; though I didn't have time to hunt there for them today, I'm afraid,

Do have a bit of a think about where this COATES family might in fact be - perhaps other members of your family would have an idea or a suggestion or two - because they might simply have lived in the very next parish, and it really wouldn't take much looking up again if you found the family somewhere else nearby...
