Hello again Jackie
Nice to hear from you, and hope you are keeping well.
I will certainly take a photo of where Halls Passage used to be - the Royal Mail now stands on the site.
By the way, if you do come to Shrewsbury let me know, it would be great to meet up.
Best wishes
Jan

Ibbotson, this message is for you.
I do apologise for not taking the photos you wanted of St John's Hill. To be perfectly honest, I just haven't been into Shrewsbury town centre for ages as didn't need to venture in!!!!
I have got to take some photos for J.J. of St Chad's cemetery, and as St John's Hill is quite close, I hope to do both on the same day.
All I can say is bear with me please.................your photos will be with you very soon.
Thanks.
Jan

started a new topic http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,92551.0.html
...and I have also asked the Moderator to split this thread and put your photos request into a new topic. Makes things a bit easier, don't you think.
Jan
Moderator Comment: new topic merged with the older, seperate photo requests in one thread

Hi Lloydy
I don't think the addresses are complete on my Gr Gr Grandparents marriage cert in 1853 ~ perhaps you can help.
Edwin Jones lived at Castle Foregates, Shrewsbury.
Anne Evans lived at St Julians Friars, Shrewsbury.
Take care Shirley x

Hello Shirley
Do you know if Edwin and Anne were living at those addresses in the 1851 census........it may give a bit more info
Meanwhile, have a look at this:

Hi Jan
No ~ unfortunately he was living with his father Richard Jones in 1851 and it was St Michael Street.
Goodness ~ did the Severn burst it's banks?
May be disappearing for half an hour whilst I get the dinner Jan. Shirley x

OK, I'll take some shots of Castle Foregate and St Julians Friars - although both have changed considerably, and a lot of older properties demolished to make way for new developments.

Crickey Jan the floods look awful ~ I hope the barriers work and you don't get floods this winter.
That would be great if you can take some photos but wait until the Spring or Summer, absolutely no rush at all.

Hello s g d
I don't think it is my Richard Jones ~ he was born 1794 in Llangedwin, Denbighshire. In 1834 he was an 'Overlooker', living at Spring Gardens. In 1851 he is still an 'Overlooker in a Cotton Mill'. In a very old map there was a mill in St.Michael's. I am assuming he worked there.
Thank you very much for looking him up for me. Best wishes Shirley
