Checking 1901 census please
« on: Wednesday 28 September 05 17:32 BST (UK) »

I have found these people wrongly transcribed and for the head his age is way out. Could someone please check the original image for me and let me know the correct details.

They should be Preest but have been transcribed as Sreest!!!

The reference is RG13/4921
folio 130
page 6

The head should read Thomas Preest born Bream
wife should be Anna born Colstock
children Ethel, Henry, John, Louisa and William.

Many thanks in advance

Thomas is 56 by the look of things, although his age is heavily crossed out and could be 86 at a push.

Your ref as above

PREEST Thomas H M 56 - colliery lab above ground
Hannah W M 54 - Cornwall Calstock
William son U 25 - colliery lab underground
Ethel dau U 20 - epileptic from birth
John son 18 - coal miner trimmer?
Henry son 15 - do
Louisa dau 8

All born Bream, except Hannah.

Address: Breams Eaves, Gloucestershire (although in Wales for census purposes with my supplier!)

Hope this helps.
