My great grandmother's eldest sister, Sarah Jane GATEHOUSE (born 1866) married Sidney Lanning ALDRIDGE in 1890 and the couple lived in Gillingham certainly until 1901.
In later years, they moved to Parkstone where Sidney, who was a watch/clock maker, had a jeweller's shop.
Can anyone connect with this family?

I had a great Aunt Queenie Gatehouse. her father ,William Gatehouse, her sisters Sara J Gatehouse and Florence to name a couple . Frederick was the dad. and mom was called Elizbeth. Frederick was a Blacksmith in Mere. Any bells ringing?
Hello again - this is a follow-up to my reply to your other post.
Having re-read your message I see that your Queenie is the daughter of Frederick and Elizabeth's son William and his wife Sarah Kate Alford: so she is their granddaughter, not their daughter.
I have a wonderful photograph of what I believe to be William and Sarah with their children and 'mother.' Not sure if the 'mother' in question is Elizabeth Gatehouse, or Sarah's mum. But all the children are there, posing beautifully for the camera.
Best Wishes, Joy

Yes, you are correct. I have a web page family tree with the Gatehouse folks in it and the Alford's in my line. I am hoping to search back before Frederick and Elizabeth as well. My site is http://tribalpages.com/tribes/peterbees and if you wish you are most welcome to visit it. I do have some cert and one for Queenie Gatehouse. There was a gentleman called Felix Harding and I think it was Emily Harding's half brother.
Hello again Joy, If there is a way copying the picture, would you let me know so that I might put it in my family tree site and others if you have them. The photos which are in my collection are scanned and then sent to me by email listed on my site. You may reach me at peterbees@hotmail.com Best wishes, Peter
