Well I am a total newbie on this genealogy lark, I posted in the new members bit and it was suggested I posted here too...
My Dad's family are from Middlesex/London St Pancras and I struggled at first, but am now on a roll and have found my G G G grandmother born in 1834 was born in Harlow, Essex - which was where I was born. Now with this amazing coincidence I am hooked on trying to find more. But am at a dead end.
She was in the 1881 census with her 3 children, but widdowed, so I don't know her husbands name, or her maiden name.

Where do I go from here....is it worth paying for something? I have spent £5 on familyhistoryonline which helped with my Mother's side as they are all in Cornwall/Devon, but no real help for Essex and Middx.
I have found a few links from here, but as yet not found any more info...but there is so much here I will keep looking.
