Failed to pull any information from Scotlands people as my mum is unsure of their marriage date. My mums granfather Patrick Morgan was murdered in Duntocher, and we are also unsure as to the exact date. We are going to the Mitchell library today to look at old newspapers. Hopefully we might get some dates for his death. Thanks for your reply. Jo x

Helen's and my Uncle George (wee Geordie) Stewart lived on Hillend Crescent in the 1950's. he was married to Greta McGrory.
Glad that you are so thrilled with the information we have been able to dig up. I don't see how you could have possibly been at a brick wall marje, that was real simple stuff to find.
All the information is readily available at scotlandspeople, and you have the added luxury of having close proximity to the Mitchell, and the New Register House in Edinburgh. Helen is in Australia, I am in Western Canada.
A lot of the Scottish church registers have been transcribed, and are available at www.familysearch.org on the IGI index. Not all the registers are on there though. Catholic registers are sadly lacking, but the years 1855 - 1875, plus the 2 census years of 1881 and 1891 are all available as those certificates were all filmed.
Wait till you start trying to find the families in Ireland.... that's the tough part!
Keep on digging - if you find any Stewarts, Coyles, Cuthbertsons, Mochans, McGranaghans in you family names, we are probably cousins. Dig far enough in Duntocher, and we will ALL end up being related! tee hee..
