Slaney family of Polesworth and Warton

Is anyone else researching this family? Back as far as John Slaney born 1765 son of Joseph and Elizabeth. No marriage for Joseph and Elizabeth found. Where did they come from before Polesworth and Warton. This is near Tamworth (Staffs). Hope you can help. Thank you

There were Slaney's in nearby Atherstone. I went to school with one. I have a photo of the Cemetary Lodge there with a Mr & Mrs Slaney standing outside. They were the caretakers of the cemetary in about 1880.
Early church records would be under Mancetter, and from about 1850 Atherstone
