Hello, Gillian

What info do you already have on the family?

What period (or century) are you looking for?

If you could give a starting point to work from it would help figure out where to start looking.

All the best

Hi Philip,

Sorry, I meant to add more detail but got distracted!

Christopher Farrer marr Sarah Muncaster 25/12/1787 Warcop. They are on the 1787 census living in Bleatarn, Warcop.
I don't know where they were born.

They have three children that I know of:
Elizabeth b1792
Anne b1794
William b1790.

Elizabeth was living in Shap in 1814. Not sure if her family was with her.

Regards,

Gillian

Hallo Gillian

There are several Farrer families dotted around Westmoreland - quite a few in Shap and Kendal.  I have looked on IGI for Warcop and found the following:

Family of John FAIRER & Betty (m ?)
John FAIRER
Betty
William FAIRER  bap 21/03/1760 Warcop, m Ann DOVER 21/08/1784 Asby

Family of Christopher FARRER & Sarah MUNCASTER (m 25/12/1787, Warcop)
Christopher FARRER
Sarah MUNCASTER
William FARRER bap 24/10/1790 Warcop
Elizabeth FARRER  bap 17/06/1792 Warcop
Ann FARRER  bap 31/03/1794 Warcop

Family of William FARRER & Ann RICHARDSON (m 17/04/1814, Warcop)
William FARRER (possibly son of Christopher & Sarah above, but not proved)
Ann RICHARDSON  bap 07/08/1791 Warcop, daughter of John RICHARDSON & Ann ROBINSON
Ann FARRER  bap 16/08/1822 Warcop

Misc.
Christopher FARRER  bap 25/09/1822 Warcop, son of Thomas FARRER & Jane
Elizabeth FARRER  bap 06/11/1859  Warcop, daughter of Isabella FARRER

If you are wanting to dig back into the 1700s, you could see if a Rootschatter has access to the parish records.

If you want to look sideways and into the 1800s you would need to ask for an 1841 census lookup.

(Sorry if this doesn't seem very helpful, but I don't have access to either of them)

Regards
Philip

Thanks Philip,

I guess I need someone with access to the Warcop PRs. I'd like to find out where Christopher Farrer came from but am interested in any info about Christopher's family.
