It's certainly been very handy for me over the last week or so.  I managed to find probate file reference numbers for a couple of people in my tree I had been looking for and emailed the Chch office and a few days later they got back to me with a price breakdown for each file including postage.  Not sure whether it's the same for each office but Chch charged 50c per page for A4, 60c for A3 and $3.50 for postage.  The postage charge would vary I guess depending on how much stuff you wanted.
