Wow, looking through the pages of the diary and seeing things like "Hitler declares war on Poland" and "England declares war on Germany" really does feel strange!

How did you get those images so clear?  I've got some items my grandma left behind which I'd like to transfer to digital medium and keep safe but the idea of bending the pages back to fit in the scanner is one idea what'll never be followed through Grin

When scanning old documents Photos you have to be very careful but if you don't digitise alot of these things they will just turn to dust. I am lucky that I work in print and have access to photshop 7 which is the best program for retouching. The only danger to my old photos diary seems to be my young dog who tried to eat it luckily I managed to get it before he ruined the pages but the cover is ruined.

When my grandma passed away she left a box full of old letters, diaries, photographs, postcards etc. and although things like the postcards and letters will fit in the scanner diaries won't so I've thought of photographing them.

I've been running some of the photographs through Photoshop as well but getting the light just right is very tricky so some of the items have had to be taken at an angle with the flash on.  Changing the perspective of a photograph even in Photoshop has its limitations.

Once I've shifted them all over to my hard drive I've thought of looking into getting them vacuum packed and stored somewhere safe.
