Richard Calvert, my maternal ggg.grandfather, married Harriet Foster July 3rd 1858 he was 21, and she was 19.
My gg grandfather Samuel was born was born 6th May 1866, followed by brother Alfred 2 years later. I do not know if there were any earlier children . When Samuel was born, they were living at 153 Woodhouse Street Leeds.
It took an age to find Richard on the 1881 census, because he was written down as Pickard !! at that time, he was a lodger, with Samuel and Alfred, at 1 Congress Place ,Leeds. With a Mrs Elizabeth Rhodes and her family.
I cannot find Harriet on this census, but nor can I find her death. Can any one help?
On the 1891 census, Richard was even harder to find, he was down as Calbert, as was Alfred, still living with Elizabeth Rhodes (who was written down as Blinder!!) but now at 1, Swan Green Leeds.
No matter how hard I have searched I can't come up with the death of either Harriet or Richard. They appear to have lived all their lives in the Woodhouse or Marsh Lane area of Leeds.
Has anyone any clues?
Best wishes JeannieR

Hi Jeannie
Sorry we haven't been able to help you so far on this one.
Have you made any progress, or do you have any further details that could help someone to find what you are looking for?
Look forward to hearing from you.
Best wishes

Thanks Ticker For your concern, on this subject.
No I still haven't managed to "kill" off these two, but must admit I was concentrating on my HUGHES side of the family, from Liverpool, which, with the help of rootschat, I have had great success.
I so regret not starting genealogy, when I had someone alive who could help me, all I had was a boxful of photos, with no names on except one.......but I have come along way in 18 mths.
Thank you again JeannieR

I know the feeling - hindsight is a wonderful thing!
Good luck anyway
