Lookup at Auckland Library please
« on: Thursday 13 October 05 22:00 BST (UK) »

I would appreciate someone looking up the Royal Irish Constabulary Index which according to their catalogue is held at the Auckland library on microfiche.  ec has kindly given me the reference: McKnight, Robert 19 Down - page 166B film 6059 - year 1848, but unfortunately my local LDS centre can't get it for me.  This index apparently includes name, age, county or country of birth, whether married, year of enlistment and comments.  I am hoping it may also provide a service number.

Thank you, Bee

Thank you very much for looking Mk2 - I had hoped what the library had would be the long version.  I asked at the LDS centre here in Blenheim but apparently that film is not circulated to family history centres.  My library is going to find out whether they can get me another index (book version) that will give me a service number.

Regards, Bee
