Look Up Lee Family
« on: Thursday 13 October 05 22:29 BST (UK) »

I apologise in advance for vague details but I don't have much to go on and would appreciate any information.

Looking for Thomas Lee (b1837 - 1904) and wife Sarah (b1837) both born in Devon, England.  They appear on the 1881 England census but not the 1891 England census so I assume they left England during that 10 year period.  I know Thomas and Sarah Lee are buried in Australia but where I don't know.  My great grandfather Frederick never went with them he moved to Cardiff.  I don't know if any of their other children went with them.  There is a photograph of their grave and the inscription at the bottom refers to their son Frank who I cannot find on the any of England Censuses.

Thanks
Linda

Hi Lindy

Do you have any idea in which Australian state the grave is located? There is a possible 1904 death in NSW  (I had all the details & managed to lose my post)
follow the family history links www.bdm.nsw.gov.au
Do you have the parent names of Thomas or Sarah. Australian indexes include parent names (if they were known by the informant - sometimes not on death records)

Hi Trish

Thomas' parents were called John & Ann Lee and oddly enough Sarah's parents were called John & Ann Broadmead.

After a bit of searching last night I found their son Francis on the census living in London he was the one who had the gravestone erected.

I will have a look at that site.

Thank

There doesn't seem to be a possible Sarah with the correct parents in NSW. could be worth checking other states. Sorry I wasn't more help.

I checked the Brisbane (Qld ) Cemeteries but could not find them there.
