NORRIS, Katherine G.
« on: Thursday 13 October 05 22:02 UTC (UK) »

Katherine G Norris.   maiden name TURNER. b 1872 Bray, Berkshire.
This is my G.Grandmother. Her father is Thomas and mother Frances.

In 1881, all in Bray, Berks.
Thomas b abt 1820 -  Frances b abt 1832

It would seem that this is Frances second marriage as there is a son
    George Williams.b abt 1854.
There would appear to be various articles on this Turner family and
        Cox Green area of Bray.

Could anyone spare the time, when on Ancestry or similar to put in the
Turner of Bray / CoxGreen, both in Berkshire, to see what comes up.

Grateful for any interest in this one.      Cheesy   Lesanne.    Cheesy

Well done, Becky. That gives Thomas as having a first wife as well.
No wonder this part of my family is giving me the run around.

But, do you have any info on the Bray and Cox Green history of the Turner side.

I shall take a look at the other's you suggest.
                                   Thanks for this.     Cheesy

Thanks Lesanne and Becky.
I tried to post the letter from Katherine but, I'll have to try to shrink it! I had found most of them, 2 months, no sleep, its probably familiar! Any suggestions about posting scans??
Are there trees on this site where I can browse these Turners??
This is exciting!!

    Hi Kiddo,
This the first real contact with this side of my family, ever.
The first cert we got from the old volumn's in 1965.

I have also searched, high and low, for any tree connected to the Turner family.
Katherine, being my dad's grandmother, has just gone
from record after the 1901 census.

To post an attach, this took some working out the first time,
but once you know how  Grin

Prepare the attachment.  This may mean resizing. Naming the file.

I downloaded Irfan View, free from the net.
Got the image in that,
then under resizing got the size to about 450, 6x8.
                  changed it to PDF.
Renamed the photo. When I "save as" .

Now, when I scan anything, I prepare it ready to attach. Then it's less of a chore to post, if I need to.
If some of the others saw this, they would be laughing their socks off.
As I am trying to build my site.  Grin Have a look on Feedback, in Webspace help.

  Ok, click on Additional options,
click browse,     Find your file.   click on it.      Then on post.

Everything crossed. Close your eyes and wish.

Please, don't give up if nothing happens.
It's usually something so tiny, that we can all help with, that's what so great about this site.       You don't have to be a puta whizz.

                                Good luck, Lesanne.    Cheesy

                                                   s/o Andrew Albert Norris, Gardener.
                             Katharine Georgina Turner,18,Boyne Hill.
                                                   d/o Thomas Turner, Coachman.
Wit: Joseph Meade or Mc ade and Henrietta Norris. ( Robert's sister) 14 at this time.

Only leather on horses I think..haven't heard of boot and shoemakers. Alice( Lambourne)Turner was a lacemaker and seamstress tho. I'll put the word out to my uncle and aunt..see what comes up. Thomas Turner Jr. continued working as a coachman here, managed stables for a family in Hamilton. Tha article your Katherine helped to write was in the Maidenhead Advertiser Dec29th 1937 under "Victorian Maidenhead". Maybe you can find it online?? I'm still working on resizing and trying to get these docs to under 300K for the attachments here. Is your site online yet??
More later..k.
