Mary Queen of Scots Public House, Gateshead
« on: Friday 14 October 05 17:56 UTC (UK) »

Hi Listers, Does anyone have local knowledge of the Mary Queen of Scots Public House. I believewas in Heward (Howard) Place in Gateshead.
My ancestor Gilbert Miller and family are to be found in the Beer Shop next door, according to the 1861 Census.  Am I right in thinking that this is the off-licence ?
Does anyone know anything of the history of the pub and if it still stands ?
I believe that Gilbert died just two years after the census, I wonder if he was still at this address ?

Look forward to your replies.
