Sorry really basic question.

I have one relative that went to the US, the only info I have is that my mother remembers him leaving my Nanna money in his will.

He was born in Devon, Hartland in 1854, and I can't find him in the 1881 census and beyond, so where do I start looking in the US?

I have tried some of the links on here, but as yet not had any success.

What is his name - tell us anything else you know about him, for instance, do you have him in England in 1860? 1870?

Sorry - I put his name in the title

Daniel Dayman - B Hartland, Devon.  He is on the census for 1861 and 1871.

Just emailed my Mum for more info, see if she can remember anything...v long time ago for her!
