1851 look up BURDEN.
« on: Wednesday 19 October 05 12:06 BST (UK) »

I am looking for a William Burden born abt 1803 Hamworthy(according to 1861 census).
His wife and children are living Uptown, Corfe Mullen in 1851 but he is not there.
In 1841 they are living Rushcombe Bottom, Canford and 1861 Pud Hill, Lytchett Minster. So probably he is around that area somewhere.
Also looking for his son William born abt 1829 possibly Lytchett, in the 1851 census.

thanks for passing on that baptism.
I am not sure of William's parents. In the same household as him and his wife in the 1841 census is a John Burden age 70. As this census doesn't give relationships i wondered if he was Williams father. Moving on to the 1851 census and as i said i haven't found William yet. His wife and children are found though and this John is with them again age 87. Under the relationship though it says visitor apparently. I haven't seen the image only what was passed on. So i still don't know if he is William's father or not. John was born Woolbridge.
I will keep the baptism you have found and try more work.
My line of Burdens stay in the area for Canford, Upton, Hamworthy, Corfe Mullen.
Thank you
Amelia
