Kershaw, Balmforth family of Northowram

I am trying to locate an elusive Kershaw and Balmforth family and would love some help.

I am having trouble finding anyone researching my Kershaw Line from Northowram beginning  with

1682  Nathan Kershaw and Sarah Shaw
1717 Isaac Kershaw Mercy Lofthouse  
1748 Jacob Kershaw  & Hannah Bennett
1776 Jacob Kershaw  & Mary Scholfield

Below is The line I am sure of

1809 Abraham Kershaw  & Hannah Balmforth  1851 Swamp, Northowram, Yorkshire

1851 Swamp, Northowram, Yorkshire
Abraham Kershaw 41 a reed & heald maker employing 2 men  
Hannah 40 wife (Balmforth)
Rebecca  17  reed wire drawer
Elizabeth  16  reed wire drawer
Isaac 14   heald knitter
George 12  wire dresser  
Mary Ann 9 errand girl
John 6
Margaret   4
Sarah Jane 1

1836    Isaac Kershaw & Sarah Laycock  
1881 Census Market St. Thornton in Bradford
Isaac Kershaw 44 years occupation a reed maker.
Sarah Jane aged 38 years,
Abraham, 19 years was born in Thornton Telegraphic engineer,
Frank, 15 years was born in Clayton worsted spinner,
Arthur 13 years was born in Thornton, worsted spinner
Elizabeth, 10 years was born in Clayton student.


Isaac  and Sarah Kershaw were in Leeds in 1891/ 1901.

Their son Abraham was the founder of A Kershaw and Sons Harehills  Leeds
Abraham Kershaw and Martha Beilby had sons Cecil and Norman and a daughter Dorothy

Unfortunately I have been unable so far to trace a living relative in England, but I am not giving up Hope.

I can't spot a direct link with my Kershaws, but they do overlap in Thornton in Bradford, most notably Joseph Kershaw born 1834 in Allerton, but who lived in Thornton. He had 6 children and his daughter Marietta married a Herbert Watson. I haven't traced any of their offspring, but Herbert Kershaw Watson (son or grandson) was Lord Mayor of Bradford in 1964 (I think).

AFAIK, Joseph was the illeg son of Maria Kershaw, whose mother,  Mary Kershaw, born 1777 in Bingley is the end of that particular line of research at the moment.

Sorry, but at this moment I cannot see a connection.
I have not come across a Joseph Kershaw in the Kershaw /Balmforth Family.
