GG grandparents-1888 John Morrison a miner formerly of High Street Clackmannan married Isabella Swanson a millworker from Broadstreet.
John's Father was Henry Morrison a shoemaker who according to marriage certificate was deceased and his mother was Marjory ne Snaddon also deceased .
I have managed to trace Isabella's birth certificate also in the Clackmannan County in May 1866 fathers name John Swanson cannot make out occupation and mothers name Janet ne Gray who were married 12th/?/ 1851
I have details of children born to John & Isabella from 1891 census & 1901 census: they are
Henry circa 1889
John circa 1890
Jessie 1891
May (mary) depending on which record you look at 1892.
I am trying to find more details for either side of the family either around this time or prior and have become stuck. Any help or advice really appreciated

Little Nell Thankyou I will definately look again at the SGRO everything points to the right information for Isabella as her marriage certificate definately states Broadstreet . I can't make out the address on her Birth certificate looks like West V???something Alloa??
On the SGRO when I looked up the 1891 census there are 2 entries for an Isabella Morrison which she would have been by then one aged 26 Alloa and one aged 24 Clackmannan both suprisingly married to a John Morrison which completly threw me the only way I could tell the right one was John by Johns profession as a miner and by the address of high street which is Johns address on the wedding certificate

scotlandspeople have 1 match (death records) for marjory morrison other surnames snadon in clackmannan, clackmannan. 1872 aged 40 years. which puts her being born c1832. i have not actually viewed these certs though, so cant be certain it is definitely the correct match.
there are 3 entries on igi for her birth but all are submitted records, but 2 of these have her death listed 1872, so maybe somebody else is researching the same line???
also have 1 match (death records) for henry morrison in clackmannan, clackmannan in 1877 aged 52 years. which puts him being born c1825. - again, i havent actually viewed this cert, so it might not be the correct one that you are looking for.
this could be their youngest daughter in 1881 living with a "king" family. -on one of the other messages John was with "white" family, but the visitor also had the surname "king".

so it appears that henry morrison had sisters isabella and elizabeth. - hopefully that should help track down his birth.
i couldnt find his birth on the igi, but these are possible for siblings....... (but probably wishful thinking).

there was a robert scobie living at the same address as elizabeth king and he was listed as her brother in law. but the age doesn't quite match. - if the age in 1881 census is correct, he married when he was 14...... but i suppose the 1881 age could be wrong.
