Hi

have joined this great forum, but i have a non gen query( well its to do with my profile)i keep seeing wonderful pictures, animations, photos and plaques and have tried to do one my self which didnt appear on my profile. Please can someone help me and tell me how to do it ( not too technical words please !)

My crest that I found was on the list (well it was more or less right anyhow).

You go to profile.
Click on Forum Profile Information
If you want to use one of the RootsChat family crests (or flags) scroll down until you spot a surname that is on your tree.
(tip: if you click anywhere on the list and press a key on the keyboard, it will take you to the names beginning with that letter)
Finally click the Change Profile button at the bottom

Otherwise, if you have an image on a webpage somewhere then you click the option "I have my own pic" then enter the address of the image.
(tip: To find the address on an image, right-click on an image and select "properties")
Finally click the Change Profile button at the bottom

If you don't have a website yet with your own image on, you can also attach your homemade crest to a new message, and then after you have sent the message, you can right-click on the picture that you have uploaded to find its address.

You then use this address in the "I have my own pic" section.
