Hello
i am seeking information on this surname in Australia
i have come accross a website for this surname that contained info on my family of Yuill's in scotland that has given me a lead to Australia that ends with a William John Yuill 1885-1960 Parkville Melbourne if any decendants read this please get in contact
the John Yuill i have a special intrest in is one listed as being born ca 1827 and dying 1910 Bendigo Victoria as i am hoping to obtain confirmation of his parentage that would confirm his parents where a William Yuill & Agnes Paterson which are a direct line in my tree any obituary info or
any help would be greatly apreciated.kind regards aeroqueen

Hi,
I have found the same index info you have mentioned so I am presuming you have it already.
But you can download the certificate from the BDM Victoria.online.

After opening the above site, click on the Historical Index, and go from there.
the certificate will cost 17.50 Aus.

I found this
YUILL, Private, GEORGE ROBERT, 805. 7th Bn. Australian Infantry, A.I.F. Killed in action 25th April 1915. Age 19. Son of Agnes Jane Yuill, of 58, Fammer St., Burnley, Victoria, and the late John Yuill. Of Eaglehawk, Victoria. O. 16.
There is also another soldier, who came home after being gassed.

As kenjo states you can download the image on line. If you have the reference no. you do not have to do a search. Just go to download and purchase an image.
The reference no, if you don't already have it, is 7951. He was aged 83. His parents are listed as William YUILL & Agnes PATERSON.
His son John YUILL died 1907 in Bendigo aged 45 his ref:3593.
Parents listed as John YUILL & Christina MCARTHUR
John YUILL married Christina MCARTHUR in 1854 Ref: 3447 They had 7 children.
The family appears to have lived around the Bendigo area.

a big thankyou to you both for trying to help me it is appreciated.
I found the death cert ref for John after searching through the pages for Yuills last night as i kept getting no result with just the details for John Yuill and have applied for it by snail mail .i really should have read through the site thoroughly first and gone for the download but nevermind i will just have to wait for it to arrive.
my next step is trying to trace his emigration to Australia before i "claim" him as a definite in my tree or hopefully track down who supplied the info on the link that led me to it.

as well, sorry you had so much trouble.
The soldiers, from the link would possibly be the grandsons of your John, if you want the children of john, just ask....
