Tull, Pearce, Wild, Howell,
« on: Saturday 22 October 05 12:15 BST (UK) »

Hi Everyone,

My main surnames in Hants are:-

TULL - Tadley, Mortimer West End, Kingsclere areas. With some other descendents of my ancestors known to have been at Pamber and Silchester. Also some of these Tull's are connected with LAMBDEN, GOLDING, SAUNDERS, WEST, STACEY, BENHAM, RAMPTON, MONGER, BOAMES/BOWMAN, COTTRELL, JACOB, HAWKINS, JAMES, CURTIS, WINSTON, PEARCE - various places in Hants & Berks.

WILD - Weston Patrick, Odiham, possibly Alton areas. Some connections to MORGAN, CULVER, BALDWIN, PITTAR, TURNER, ANDREWS, HAWKINS (not a typo nor duplication of above), OLIVER, OSMAN, BEALE, SAINSBURY various places in Hants.

HOWELL - Eastney. (Originally my Howell ancestors were from Birmingham) several cousins in Hants or wherever they have migrated to.

I don't have a lot of info on people beyond our ancestors (ie spouses of siblings etc). However, what I have may help someone else. So anyone with any interest in these names please do let me know if I can give you further details.

Cheers,
Candy

Hi

I have an Amy BOAMES in my tree born c1795 Pamber according to the census. She married Richard GIBSON in Tilehurst in 1816.

Anyway, if you have any information at all about the BOAMES family from Hampshire I would be really grateful to hear from you. It is such an unusual name that I'm sure they must connect up somehow. I hadn't thought of the BOWMAN variation so that is at least a new avenue for me to go down.

Many thanks
Lyla

Hi Lyla,
All I have is Jane Tull (daughter of Daniel Tull & Olive Exall). Jane bap 6.12.1807 married George Boames (Bowman) 29.9.1927.
It seems that Jane Tull had a daughter Sarah bap 18.9.1825, not sure who the father was. This is not my tree, but Daniel Tull may have been a brother or cousin of my David Tull but no records can be found to confirm it. All I know is that one of David's grandsons married one of Daniel's grandaughters while David & Daniel were still alive so I'd say they knew each other if not related as well.
Have you found the Pamber surname & history site yet? You will probably find the name Bowman there & that contact may lead you to more info.

You might also find some other info on your Boames people via the homepage

Hope that helps.
Regards,
Candy
