Sarah McEwan in Alloa 1991 census?
« on: Saturday 22 October 05 19:06 UTC (UK) »

Looking for a Sarah Mcewan. In 1895 was living at Primrose Street Alloa. Married William McEwan. Had  daughter Agnes in 1896. Where was she in 1901? Any help appreciated. Jim

Thought I was able to help you there - but my William McEwan died in 1934 and was single when he died - sorry.

I guess you've tried the 1901 census?

Bestie I had a wee look for you today - I was at Park Circus  Wink.

I didn't find anything startling  Sad

I did notice that Sarah was a widow when she married William, her MS was Elliot.

I did notice that William was a travelling Showman, so that may explain there absence.

Thanks a lot for that I was beginning to think this thread had dried up. William was a travelling showman so is difficult to trace but left his children elsewhere when travelling...I've tried the Scotland's People site but have spent a fortune on wrong leads...thanks again. Jim

Wish I could have been more positive for ya.

If you're near Glasgow I'd recommend Park Circus - £13 for the whole day, as many searches as you like, although this is only for Scotland.

Perhaps someone else will be able to offer a clue.

Hey Bestie - just found this link on another site.

I haven't looked at it, but your search sprung to mind and wondered if it would be any use to you?
