I would be most grateful if anyone could look up information on the following person and their family:
Edwin Bacon, born Brightlingsee Essex in Mar Quarter 1852, so he would be about 8/9 in the 1861 census.
A very interesting person, he ran away from home and made a fortune in fishing in the Grimsby area, but I have not yet found out anything about his early life or family.
Would like to know anything census shows, including siblings, parents, address etc.
Very grateful in anticipation Alison

Census does not show where born but 1851 indexes would, let me know if you want this. Also have actual 1871 if any help.

Thank you Geoff very much.
I had put the Bacons on the back burner for the time being, but this will bring them to life again. My family is the 125 BLS ones, including Amelia who is new to me, she was dead by 1861. My husbands direct ancestor was not yet born, he was Edwin who according to family legend ran away from home.
There's probably a grain of truth in it somewhere, because later on a step mother appears in the records.....
Thank you again for your time and trouble.
Good luck in your own research.
Alison

I can see the Christmas holidays being taken up with lots of research time...
Kind regards Alison
