Pyper family in Co. Down

Jacob Pyper moved from Co. Limerick to Ballykinlar, Co. Down in the north of Ireland before World War I to join the British army. His sister and brother moved north with him. Republicans and the IRA squatted in the family farm they left behind them. The family fought to get the value of the farm for many years and finally about 1980 the Irish Government paid them the value of their Co. Limerick farm.
