Halo Fitty,
I believe this would be archived at Suffolk Record Office. However I have noticed that some other resources (eg Essex RO) carry copies of volumes which either give indexes to wills or, if you are lucky, transcripts of the wills themselves. Recently i noticed 2 volumes of the latter at Essex Record Office but the years they covered just missed the period I was looking for.
I'll check with my files and get back to you shortly

(continued) the resource I had in mind was part of the Index Library and was entitled "Index of the Probate Records of the Court of the Archdeaconry of Suffolk 1444-1700. I have seen this at FRC and at ERO. Maybe there is a separate volume for the Archdeaconry of Sudbury. It was issued by British Record Society in 1980.
I omitted to make a note of the title of the transcripts (which may be only of the Suffolk wills)  but I have a feeling that they were published by Suffolk Records Society. I'll double check next time i'm at Chelmsford.

If you could do that for me, that would be smashing!  I can then send off for the transcripts.  It'll be the first time i've sent off for anything like this and i,m unsure what to do exactly!

There are a couple of Wills i have found and i,m itching to see them  lol
