Are there any descendants out there of my 4x Gt Grandfather Alexander Gillespie born Scotland C1770 Alexander married Ann Power (nee Edmunds (born Ashleworth) at Redmarley Glos (then Worcs) during 1797.Also in Gloucester was a John Gillespie born Scotland c1753.Both men were in Gloucester Union Workhouse in 1841.Alexander age 77 and John age 94 both died in 1847 and were buried at St Nicholas Gloucester.

Hi Graceland never had much luck on this line. In the early days part of this family were refered to in the PRs as Cullisby and Glasby.So far i have only met one other researcher in Glos with an interest in this family and that was some years ago.The last of the Gillespies in my line was my 2x Gt Grandmother Eliza who married William Compton.In their later years they ran the New Inn (now the Englands Glory ) in London Rd Gloucester.Suspect that this is where my Gt Gran Eliza met her Irish born husband Michael Bryan.Regards Tralee
