Hi Yogi
ther is Charles Frederick Putterill born 1906 Wisbech

ricky

My grandad was Edwin Putteril (lost an L but his parents were Putterill) I'm sure this was my mum's Aunty Violet. Some of my relatives were the Aspland also, one a famous Showman who's gondella is in Thursford Museum made by the Savage's of Kings . My mum also had an Uncle Charlie. Most of my Putterills originated in Tydd St Giles and Spalding way but seem to have moved to Wisbech and Wisbech St Mary the turn of the 19th century and the dead give away they are related is that the males have Flectcher as a middle name.

I suspect that you may be able to help me regarding Arthur Fletcher Putterill born 1900 Holbeach.
Am I correct in assuming that he married Ada E Ward (nee Cumberworth) in 1961?
Do he die in Wisbech RD in 1963?

Hi, although this isn't the direct line I am researching I can tell you where the Fletcher comes from.

William Puttrell b. 1753 Billinghay, Lincs d. 1834 Sutton St. James, Lincs married 12 Dec 1786 at Mavis Enderby, Lincolnshire to Ann Fletcher.

They had at least 6 children, the youngest of whom b. 1809 at Sutton St. James was called Fletcher Putterill but children of the other siblings had Fletcher as a middle name.
