Allen Whitby, Little Shelford

Hello

I've found a burial for Allen Whitby (b 1777) at All Saints, Little Shelford on 2 July 1840 however I've been unable to find a register of death in the BMD for Q2 and Q3 in 1840. The surname has been spelt as Widby and Wisby in other records, but still no luck with these names.

I appreciate that whilst all deaths should have been registered, not all where, but wondered if I'm missing anything here, can anyone help?
