Hello,

I try to find more information about a soldier who was in Navy during WWII and I've got his official number : MX90399. But I don't know where I could find some information. Please, could you help me?

Thank you in advance.

Sometimes Royal Artillery gunners were used to man guns on armed trawlers or merchant ships.
These Merchant ships were known as D.E.M.S  Defensively equipped merchant ships, also on armed trawlers used in minesweeping and anti submarine work.

Perhaps Royal Artillery websites may help or ww2talk.com

Thank you for your answer, James, but I think I used 'bad' words (soldier), because this man I would like to know is really a seaman, and I'm looking for some records that I could use to know his career into Royal Navy.

Is it possible to find anywhere some records with just this official number and surname?

Thank you, everyone.

Records of military personnel still serving after 1920 are with the MOD (Ministry of Defence).

To apply for these records, see:
https://www.gov.uk/requests-for-personal-data-and-service-records

There is a fee of £30, and requests can take months! :(
