Looking for the birth record of Anne Short.
(She may also have gone by the name Catherine or Kate Anne Short).

She was married in Roscrea Church in 1881 to John Devlin.
Her father is listed as Peter Short.

She died due to complications of childbirth in Philadelphia in 1884.  Her death record states she was 27 years old.

Just had a look at Rootsireland.ie website, there are baptisms for 4 children with parents Peter Short (& Ellen) in Roscrea Parish but no Ann or Catherine listed unfortunately. 

There is a marriage for a Peter Short & Ellen ? in Co. Offaly (1849) which is the neighbouring county.  What address is given for bride & father on Anne's marriage cert?

Hi Monemore,

The address on the marriage record is for Birchgrove, Roscrea.  Both the groom and bride are listed at the same address.  It also states that the couple was married in Roscrea Church.

I though that some of these Shorts may be siblings of Anne.  Your suggestion about looking in Co. Offaly is one I had not considered.  Thanks for the suggestion.

I took Monemore's suggestion and looked in County Offaly.

I think that I might have a match.

Sponsor 1: Robert Searson
Sponsor 2: Anne Treacy

On Anne's marriage record her last name is written as Short while Peter, her father, is written as Shortt.  I'm pretty sure I have found the right person.

Might be worth getting a copy of a Civil Cert of a sibling - father's profession, address, etc included.

There is an Ellen Shorte (mother in law) on the 1901 Census in Roscrea.
