Salisbury, Weaste Cemetery Salford UK
« on: Sunday 12 October 14 23:57 BST (UK) »
Hi, discovered this site and must say it's a big help!
I'm looking for information regarding a Thomas Jackson Salisbury and Mary Salisbury buried at Weaste Cemetery in Salford, UK. I have a plot number it's N - 207 from about 1922. I was hoping to get a photograph if there's a headstone. Any help is much appreciated

Hi and welcome!

There is a Thomas J Salisbury death on FreeBDM age 48 in June qtr 1922 at Salford, and a Mary E aged 56 in Jun qtr 1930. Would this be them? (Although there's also a Mary age 78 in March qtr 1951 and Mary A age 78 in Jun qtr 1965)

Hi!
yes i believe that that FreeBDM entry is the Thomas Iīm looking for, thanks for that lookup. At this point I canīt be certain which Mary he was married to but there is a good likelihood she is buried with him. She signed the burial arrangements at Weaste herself in 1922 for plot N - 207 for a grade D burial.

Hi and welcome from me too.

Did you know that Weaste Cemetery has it's own website and there is a plan of the cemetery on it.
Plot N seems to be Catholic would that tie in with what you know?
There is also an index of names but I can't see your Salisbury surname.
If no one comes back to you with more info it might be worth contacting them to see if they can help.

Cemsearch is privately owned and has nothing to do with Salford Council, and sadly has not been updated for many years, yet the ownership was renewed only a few months ago  :P

I just wish the owner could have kept up the good work on his site as this is the site of my family grave, maybe he does answer emails relating to the burials I just don't know but always worth a bash.

If I lived closer DarkLane I would have nipped in for you, luv a good old grave hunt  :)

Good luck in your hunt.

Thanks for the info. Yes I did search that site with little success. I understand Weaste is a huge cemetary so I'm really just casting out into the open here. The N section for the Roman Catholic portion of the cemetery is most probably where I need to look.
