This might be Michael Gillespie in 1901 before his marriage-

Patrick born 1868- other siblings on same site but you've probably already their details

Hi Gill
Yes they were my grandparents, I didn't even know my great grandmothers name until yesterday when I was speaking to my Uncle Tom, I did a search last night and your post came up top! I would love to know more, I knew there was an American connection but didn't know any more information. My email is rick.barrett@blueyonder.co.uk
Kind regards

Richard

Thanks for the research dathai and rathmore. Much appreciated.

Until recently, the Mary Meehan in that 1911 census (and the 1901 at the same place) was my top lead, however it's come to light recently that she was an adult when she left the US so this is unlikely to be her.

It's possible she was born in South Dakota.
Benstead - Middlesbrough/Ely
Best - South Shields
Mole - Northumberland
Macdonald- Newcastle
Milburn - Newcastle
Brogdon - North East
Gillespie - Killybegs
