Silver war [wound] medal found
« on: Tuesday 09 September 14 18:39 BST (UK) »
Hi everybody :)

My name is Michael Yates and i am from the Metal detecting community and i am looking for some information if anybody out there on this forum can help us.

Somebody i know has found a silver war [wound] medal and would love to return this to any of the soldiers family if we can track them down that is.We have found the following information on the medal itself from the issued number.

Private James Hall
service number 23681
South Wales Boarderers 3rd Battalion
Served 1915-1918
Aged 22 when discharged

The trouble is we can not find out his birthplace or where he enlisted which we need to try and track down any living relations. So if anybody out there can assist with this quest it will be very much appreciated.

Regards Mick
