Have never come across those names in Ireland, myself. Have you tried Scotland.

I was just interested because i have these two names on my marriage index.I have never come across a McPhun (if i transcribed  it correctly:)before in my area and only occasionally a McFall.

       Is this any help to you. Macphill origin Scottish also Manx. but a variant name for Irish Mcfall.

Lots of McFalls/McFauls/Falls, etc. in Northern Ireland, especially around North Antrim coast and Co. Londonderry.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

McPhun is definitely correct, I am a McPhun,originally our family came from Scotland via Ireland to Australia & New Zealand. I am a descendent of William Henry McPhun who arrived in New Zealand in 1862 from Australia, he was with his sister Rose Grigg (nee McPhun) who married Robert Grigg in Dublin,St James Church 3/6/1822, Robert was in the army & I think Rose's father may have been to,but yet to be proven.
