Travel-Gwyn - Radnorshire?
« on: Friday 31 May 13 12:29 BST (UK) »
Hello

Searching in grounds not too familiar with. I have been researching a family of MORGAN(s)

Edward MORGAN(s) married Mary REES at CwmdauddrParish Church, Radnor in 1879, (I have the copy of cert) but cannot find Edward in 1881, only 2+ years after this marriage. His address is "Travel Gwyn" which I think may be the name of a house or hamlet, but cannot find it on the census despite trawling through all the pages of Cwmdauddr........any one come across this name and any ideas as to location?

Hi

So we can have a look for him in 1881 - can you give the following info:

How old were they both when they married?

What was Edward's occupation?

Do you have Edward on an earlier/later census?  If so - where was he born?

This looks like Edward and family in 1881 living at Travelgwyn Llangurig Montgomeryshire and working as a shepherd. He is listed as married but there is no wife,  The marriage cert lists him as a shepherd with father John (I searched on Edward Mogan working as a shepherd)

John Morgan 70  Shepherd
Margaret Morgan 72
John Morgan    38 son
Edward Morgan    36 b  Llangurig, Montgomeryshire Married
Margaret Morgan 24 daughter

Ha, I should have looked in Montgomery too.... I assumed that Travelgwyn was in Radnor........thanks. I think he dies before 1890, so this solves one problem

Thanks again
