found the attached next of kin of Harry Jones:

father William JONES listed as 62 Clarence Street (that's in Earlestown!)

mother listed so guess still alive but at no address - wonder if she still at hospital as per 1911 census find of "C. Jones" (a patient)

brother Thomas in Canada it seems

brother Edwin with their father in Clarence Street

sister Elizabeth (guess not married due to surname still as Jones)  in Middleton?

sister Annie (guess not married due to surname still as Jones) possibly at an address in Haydock Street (also in Earlestown!)

so guess Ethel and Martha had died before 1914 ;-(

Both William and son Edwin on Sugarbakers website at  www.mawer.clara.net/sugarjj.html  ... labourers at Sankey Sugar Works in 1911 (census).  Nothing earlier for William at Earlestown, so either not working at Sankey's or census did not make it clear where he worked (or I missed him  :-[).

Further details of Sankey's, with images, at  www.mawer.clara.net/loc-earles.html .

thanks for that

in 1901 at 75 Athol Street (Earlestown, Newton in Makerfield) William is listed as a "stationery engine driver (Sugar Wks)"

in 1891 at 129 Legh Street (Earlestown, Newton in Makerfield) as a "stationary engine driver"

speculate in 1881 at 64 Regent Street (Earlestown, Newton in Makerfield) as a "Labourer At Iron Foundry"

his birthplace keeps changing: Whitchurch (or) Balmer Heath (or) Bomere Heath (Shropshire)

great website there ;-)
