Hi, yes I've come up with the same marriage : -

Marriage: 25 Sep 1831 St Mary the Virgin, Prescot, Lancashire, England
George Holland - (X), Collier bachelor of Windle
Esther Thompson - (X), spinster of Windle
Witness: John Prescot; Margaret Holland, (X)

Strikes me that there is a big gap before the children came? I wonder if there were any earlier children? I'll have a look.

There are a couple of earlier possible baptisms but I can't see corresponding deaths to explain why they aren't on the 1841 census: -

Baptisms: 25 Sep 1831 St Mary (now St Helen), St Helens, Lancashire, England
William Holland - Son of George Holland & Esther
    Abode: Parr
    Occupation: Collier
    Baptised by: T. Pigot

Baptisms: 15 Nov 1835 St Mary (now St Helen), St Helens, Lancashire, England
Margaret Holland - Daughter of George Holland & Esther
    Abode: Ashton
    Occupation: Collier

The one for William is the same day George & Esther got married but at a different church (?)

best wishes

Hi there Badmog :)  .
George and Esther  Holland are my Grt x 3 grandparents by their son William (married Mary Ellen Livesey)  and then his son Peter (married Lena Davies) .

Esther was nee Tomlinson , her  father Peter  worked in a glassworks , mother Margaret  Andrews

The Hollands were coal miners going back quite a way.
Georges father Daniel was a coal miner too. The family were mostly Lancashire Catholics .
I have tree but i am at work at moment .
Will post again asap. All the best :)
